The McGill University division of the Groupe de Recherche sur l’Inadaptation Psychosociale chez l’Enfant includes 11 researchers and is directed by Marie-Claude Geoffroy.

THE RESEARCH PROGRAM

  1. Description, from pregnancy to early adulthood, of psychosocial and academic adjustment problems.
  2. Analysis of the underlying mechanisms
  3. The design and evaluation of interventions aimed at preventing their emergence or resolving their consequences.

RESEARCHERS USE A RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE THEY HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE PAST 35 YEARS, WHICH TAKES 4 FORMS

  1. Longitudinal, multi-source and intergenerational databases comprising thousands of children and families (i.e. our cohorts) followed over several decades.
  2. A team of 6 people dedicated to database management and support for researchers and students
  3. Student workspaces, observation rooms and websites
  4. A knowledge transfer system that includes the Center of Excellence and the Encyclopedia on Early Childhood Development.
